What brands do you carry?
We carry industrial compressed air equipment from Ingersoll Rand and Rolair. Our current catalog includes reciprocating compressors, fixed-speed rotary screw compressors, refrigerated and high-temperature air dryers, inline filters, receiver tanks, and accessories. Compressor models currently range from 1.5 HP to 50 HP.
What's the difference between fixed speed and variable speed (VSD) compressors?
A fixed speed compressor runs at a constant motor speed and is best suited for applications with relatively steady air demand. A variable speed drive (VSD) compressor adjusts motor speed to match changing air demand, which can improve energy efficiency in applications with fluctuating usage. Caldwell Air currently carries fixed-speed compressor models. Variable-speed models are not currently listed in our online catalog and may be added in the future.
What's the difference between reciprocating and rotary screw compressors?
Reciprocating (piston) compressors use pistons to compress air and are commonly selected for auto shops, service facilities, small manufacturing, woodworking, and other applications with cyclical or moderate air demand. Many industrial two-stage reciprocating models are also designed for continuous-duty operation. Caldwell Air carries reciprocating compressors from both Ingersoll Rand and Rolair.
Rotary screw compressors use twin helical rotors for continuous-duty operation and are better suited for facilities that need constant air supply — production lines, large manufacturing, metal fabrication, machine shops, and other continuous-use industrial facilities. We carry Ingersoll Rand rotary screw models from 5 to 50 HP.
Do I need an air dryer?
In most industrial applications, yes. Compressed air contains moisture that can damage pneumatic tools, cause corrosion in piping, and contaminate products. A refrigerated dryer is sufficient for most general industrial applications. Desiccant dryers are needed for applications requiring very dry air (painting, food/beverage, pharmaceuticals). We currently carry Ingersoll Rand and Rolair refrigerated air dryers, plus Ingersoll Rand high-temperature refrigerated air dryers, in a range of capacities.
How do I know what size compressor I need?
Compressor sizing depends on three factors: CFM (how much air your tools/equipment need), PSI (the pressure required), and duty cycle (how often the compressor runs). Add up the CFM requirements of all tools that may run simultaneously, then add 20-30% for future growth. How does shipping work?
Caldwell Air ships only to addresses within the 48 contiguous United States. Products ship directly from the manufacturer or an authorized distribution center. Large equipment typically ships via LTL freight, while smaller items may ship via UPS, FedEx, or another parcel carrier.
Unless otherwise expressly stated, product prices do not include shipping or freight charges.
For orders placed directly through our website, applicable shipping and freight charges are calculated and displayed at checkout before the customer places the order.
For orders placed through our quotation process, shipping terms and applicable freight charges are specified in the written quotation and included in the total quoted amount before purchase.
Optional LTL freight delivery services, such as liftgate delivery, residential delivery, and limited-access delivery, incur additional charges. Available services and their charges are displayed in the shopping cart and added to the order total when selected. Other carrier accessorial services also incur additional charges.
Can I get a custom quote for a large order?
Absolutely. If you're outfitting a new facility or need multiple pieces of equipment, submit a quote request or call us at (727) 900-5977. We can provide package pricing for complete compressed air systems including compressor, dryer, filtration, piping, and receiver tank.
What warranty do your products come with?
Warranty terms vary by manufacturer, product line, model, configuration, component, and any required installation, start-up, or maintenance conditions. Caldwell Air will assist customers with warranty claims, while warranty approval, coverage, remedies, and timing are determined by the manufacturer or supplier. What is your return policy?
All sales are final unless Caldwell Air approves a return or cancellation in writing. Do not return any product without prior authorization from Caldwell Air.
